  1. If you want to get off campus and enjoy some live entertainment for free, Lakeside Music Series is the way to go. Every Friday until Thanksgiving, the Shops of Lakeside in Flower Mound offer live outdoor entertainment. This Friday, Suzy and the Sissies will be playing an amalgamation of blues, rock, country and Americana from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy some quality music in a lovely outdoor setting. There are also many restaurants nearby from which the music can easily be heard, so there is also an option for those who are less keen on 40-degree weather!
  1. The Meadows Museum is presenting a selection of Spanish artwork from the collection of John and Josephine Bowes. This enticing exhibit displays 10 works from the collection (ranging from the 16th to the 18th century), most notably some of El Greco’s work, as well as Goya’s Interior of a Prison. It also examines the interesting and sophisticated life of John and Josephine Bowes and their role in showing the breathtaking beauty of Spanish art to the world. The exhibit is open all weekend and costs $4 for students and $12 for non-students, making it a cheap yet culturally enriching alternative to typical weekend plans!

The display is open every day until Christmas, with a $15 admission fee.

Talented and mysterious, the up-and-coming artist Illenium is coming to Dallas this weekend to promote his new album, Ascend.
