Junior attack Tony Lemos and freshman goaltender Ryan Murphy of the University of Dallas men’s lacrosse team have been selected by the SCAC to join the 2013 Honorable Mention Team for the season.
The SCAC asked coaches from the league to vote on offensive and defensive players who demonstrated the qualities and athleticism that the conference promotes. Coaches were unable to vote for players from their own roster, and both Lemos and Murphy received enough votes to be placed on the Honorable Mention Team.
Lemos finished the season with an average of 6.86 shots a game, 2.14 goals per game and 2.71 points per game. He has scored a total of 58 goals in his two-season career at UD.
Murphy, in his inaugural season at UD, finished with a 56.6 percent save record, saving 137 shots in the season.
Murphy and Lemos, along with the UD lacrosse program, are honored to receive this recognition from the SCAC and its coaches.
This recognition is one more step in the lacrosse program’s drive to create an accomplished team in the years to come.
