On Sunday, the Lady Crusaders celebrated senior Brittany Castro on her Senior Day. Castro was walked onto the field in the middle of game one and two by her parents Dennis and Theresa Castro. Castro is from Houston, Texas, and has been playing all four years on the softball team. This season she has played shortstop and second base. Her team will miss her and her great softball talents.

Sadly, the girls also lost the double-header against Austin College 16-2 and 10-1. In the first game, sophomore Emily Madden and freshman Mikayla Tolley both had one run a piece. In the second game, Castro was the sole scorer for the Crusaders.

The end of the regular season saw Castro lead the team with runs (30), followed closely by freshman Erin Begle with 28.

The Lady Crusaders are now preparing for the SCAC tournament that will be held here at UD. Come see UD softball battle for a conference championship.
