The University of Dallas Ultimate (UDU) team spent this weekend in Arkansas competing against other college teams in the Hendrix Ultimate Experience tournament.  The team went up missing some key players due to injury, including multiple captains, but this allowed other members of the team a chance to step up.
UDU started off the tournament Saturday morning with a decisive victory against Trinity College. Unfortunately, the team was defeated by the University of Central Arkansas in its second game, and by the University of Oklahoma in its third game. OU was one of the top-ranked teams in the tournament and one of the few Division 1 teams present. UDU played very well against OU, but ultimately fell short, though the game was closer than the score indicated.
After OU, UDU faced Brick City and Harding College. UDU kept both games close, but lost by only six points combined.
Sunday morning the team returned to the field to finish strong in the few remaining games. UDU started out by playing Washington State University, and combined fluid offense with shutdown defense to control the game start to finish.
In its final game, UDU faced Midwestern State University.  This game displayed UDU’s talent and teamwork as it yet again controlled the whole game and thoroughly beat Midwestern.
Through adversity and victory, UDU saw new faces step up into key roles on both offense and defense. The whole weekend made for a great chance for UDU to test its talent against good competition and grow as a team.
