Lady Crusaders’ basketball defeats conference rival

The University of Dallas women’s basketball team traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo., on Feb. 2, where they faced off against Colorado College for the third time this year.
After splitting two earlier home games with their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference rival, the Crusaders looked to defeat the Tigers to boost their record.
Shooting 12-34 (35.3 percent) from the field in the first half, the Crusaders took a 33-28 lead into the locker room at halftime. Colorado College outscored Dallas 27-22 in the second half to take the game into overtime. During the five minutes of overtime, Dallas scored 20 points mostly gaining its momentum from the charity stripe. The Crusaders went 18-18 from the free-throw line in overtime.
Overall, Dallas shot 32-33 (97 percent) from the free-throw line, and defeated Colorado College 75-67.
Senior guard Kylie Yoshimura led the team with a game-high 17 points, while junior post Christy Allen contributed 14 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore forward Brooke Hagemann added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
With the win over Colorado, the Crusaders improved to 9-11 overall (3-8 in SCAC).
The Crusaders host Austin College Wednesday, Feb. 6, with tip-off at 6 p.m.
