The University of Dallas volleyball team traveled to San Antonio this past weekend for another Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) tournament. It faced the top teams of the conference, making it a tough weekend to fight through. Saturday’s matches were against Trinity University, which was hosting the tournament, and Austin College. The match versus Trinity was a loss in three games (22-25, 15-25, 17-25). The match versus Austin College started off strong and the Crusaders took the first two games by playing hard and working together as a team. However, the next game was a struggle with lots of mistakes for Dallas, resulting in a loss not just in the score but also in morale. The team ended up losing to Austin College in five games (26-24, 25-18, 15-25, 19-25, 7-15).
The Crusaders knew going into Sunday’s matches that they needed to pick up their game and come out fighting hard. Unfortunately, both matches ended in losses (Colorado College: 22-25, 13-25, 21-25; Southwestern University: 20-25, 17-25, 18-25).
With only two weeks left of the season, the girls are working hard in practice to be able to reach their goal of winning the SCAC end-of-season tournament. They hope that their hard work and determination will pay off in the end.
