Southlake tree lighting: a time to lighten up

So here we are, approaching the last weekend before Thanksgiving break.  You have one weekend left to impress and spend time with your date before you won’t see him or her for a whole six days!
As you search for the date of a lifetime, the one that will keep you on his or her mind for that lengthy time you are apart, consider checking out the Southlake Tree Lighting.

From 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, Southlake Town Square is hosting its annual Tree Lighting ceremony.  The ceremony features carriage rides, live bands and choirs, photos with Santa, and the namesake, the Tree Lighting, at 6:30 p.m.

Not only does the area boast all of these events and more, but it is one of the best places in the Dallas area to stroll, shop and eat.  The square boasts 28 restaurants, almost 100 stores and a 14-screen movie theater.

Maybe try starting a meal with bruschetta at Brio Tuscan Grille. Afterwards, head across the square to Thai Chile for an entrée of your choice. Finally, finish with dessert at Nothing Bundt Cakes.  Any combination of restaurants will make a unique date where you can leave the bounds of one restaurant and travel the world through food.

The whole area will be lit up and active this Saturday, the perfect place for the last pre-Thanksgiving date. Or get a group of friends together and enjoy one another’s company before the Turkey Day celebrations commence.  If you’re looking for a great night of strolling, shopping, eating and Christmas cheer, then the Southlake Tree Lighting is just the place.
