Dominique Walker: A personal encounter

Hugging Dominique and thanking her for saving her child’s life on that day at the clinic is one of the most happy memories I have. I cannot describe what it was like to hug this woman and the child inside her, who were both overflowing with the joy of the Lord. This was the first time I had witnessed someone turning around and publicly choosing life, so I was overwhelmed with what to do. It was hard to know what to say or how to express my complete happiness for her decision as I walked her to her car and met her boyfriend. It was a beautiful mess of tears and stumbled sentences. I learned that the baby was due the week of my birthday, and I thought that was special. Since that day our friendship has grown, and I have found Dominique to be a beautiful witness to Christian living. Her honesty and sharing of her heart have been such blessings in my life, and I rejoice in experiencing what God does in us when we open ourselves to let the Holy Spirit work through us.
