Open auditions were held last Sunday, Sept. 4 for Caryl Churchill’s one act play, “A Number,” directed by Jessie Burke.
The play will feature Christopher Jameson in the role of Salter, a father seeking to correct the past, and Michael McDermott as Salter’s three sons struggling with a secret about their existence. A haunting familial tragedy, “A Number” explores the nature of second chances, the importance of identity and the struggle to maintain that identity no matter the cost.
“A Number” will open this December in the Margaret Jonsson Theater.
“The Master and Margarita”
The Drama Department announces the casting for the Senior Studio production of Mikhail Bulgakov’s “The Master and Margarita,” directed by Phil Cerronni.
“The Master and Margarita” is the extraordinary story of a woman’s struggle against this world and the next for the life of her lover, the Master, and the contest for her own soul. Set amid the intellectual stagnation of 1920s Moscow, this modern retelling of Faust celebrates and challenges our most deeply rooted prejudices and beliefs.
The cast includes Catherine Bradford, Joe Giallombardo, Blake Ballard, Jerick Johnson, Ande Hawkins, Ed Wambsganss, Justin Blan, Harrison Denn and Lizzy Hamilton. “The Master and Margarita” will open in the Margaret Jonsson Theater this December.
“The Pregnant Pause”
Auditions for the three fall Senior Studio plays, the senior thesis project for drama majors, were conducted Sunday, Sept. 4 in the Margaret Jonsson Theater. A little after 5 p.m., senior drama major Tommy Riordon had cast six of the 20 auditioning student for the 6 roles in his Studio: Georges Feydeau’s domestic tour de farce “The Pregnant Pause.” The cast includes Gus Braga-Henebry, Amanda Werley, Kate Chiappe, Josh Spencer, Madeleine Robb and Taylor Garcia. “The Pregnant Pause” will be performed the first weekend of December. Come see the talents of these actors showcased from Dec.1 – 4 at the Margaret Jonsson Theater.
