Campus Match Maker and Legend
Name: Braniff Mall
Hometown: Irving, TX
TT: How would you describe your current look?
BM: I like to think of myself as embodying the UD fashion “look.” In general, timeless yet sometimes a bit bland. A bit of me is asymmetrical and bumpy, which is kind of rugged. That’s pretty UD, right? All the flannels and Birks? It’s a “lived-in” kind of look.
TT: Do you have any fashion icons on campus?
BM: Over the many years I’ve been here, I’ve seen it all. But, no. Nobody has really floored me enough to make me want to change my style.
TT: Do you have any fashion pet peeves?
BM: In terms of fashion, no. But I hate it when visitors come and ask where the shopping is. It’s like, “come on, people.”
TT: Fashion advice, or advice in general, to the UD community?
BM: Don’t be afraid to be boring. I think it’s important to blend in and it’s good to be forgettable. Sometimes I see a lot of people trying too hard. Stop trying and stop caring about what people think of you. Embrace the boring and the mundane because, I mean, look how far that’s gotten me.
