This past week, my friend and I were looking for a nice, quick and cheap meal, and we were fortunate to stumble upon a restaurant off of MacArthur Boulevard and the John Carpenter Freeway called Urban Eatz.
Urban Eatz is a quaint little restaurant that specializes in sandwiches, pizzas, salads and burgers.
This restaurant is on the smaller side, but it makes for a cozy atmosphere. This atmosphere — paired with a friendly staff and fast service — makes it a perfect place for a dinner with your friends or for a simple dinner date.
All of the restaurant’s meals cost from $7 to $10, and they are worth your money. The salads and sandwiches are delicious.
When I last visited, I ordered the half-sandwich combo, which costs about $8 and includes a sandwich (roasted turkey, chicken salad, tuna salad or ham and swiss) and a side (house salad, Caesar salad, soup or pasta salad).
I got the ham and swiss sandwich with a Caesar salad, and it was incredibly filling. I was even able to bring some home for lunch the next day!
Other order choices include southwest chicken sandwiches, BBQ burgers and even Hawaiian pizza.
The restaurant also offers vegetarian options, including a vegetarian pizza, sandwich and black-bean burger.
Although this restaurant is good, it never seems to be busy. I consider this to be a good thing for the customer, since there is never a line.
All in all, Urban Eatz offers a great atmosphere and an even better meal. It’s right across from a Starbucks, so you can grab some coffee after you finish eating!
Urban Eatz is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. For more information, check out www.urbaneatz.com.
