This past Sunday, Nov. 17, the University of Dallas Ultimate Frisbee team (UDU) faced off against the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs.

The day was unusually warm and sweat poured down the backs of the handlers and cutters throughout the game. The home crowd was loud and proud, shouting, “Who do? UDU!” after each point the home team scored. Buoyed by the home crowd’s enthusiasm and flawless plays, UDU was up at the half 7-1.

The team stayed strong throughout the second half of the game, and the freshmen on the team, Martin Sentmanat, Joe Archer, Alex Jasiczek, Kevin Key, and Jack Teller, played impressively during their first home game.

“I think our success was largely due to the bushel of peaches we ate last night,” said Teller.

The game ended with a score of 13-3, a clear victory for UDU.

“The intensity of play throughout the whole team was outstanding, and that made the win that much better,” said junior Joe Beatty.

UDU will play SMU in its last game of the season. The date of the match is forthcoming.
