BB: Let’s start with the typical question: what are your favorite foods, movies and music and who do you look up to most?
RD: Well I love The Lion King, Dumb and Dumber, and Wedding Crashers, and I’m not too picky about music. I definitely look up to my dad and brother the most. They’re the best examples I could ask for.
BB: A lot of fans want to know more about you, so tell us a little bit about yourself and how you arrived at the University of Dallas.
RD: I graduated from JSerra [Catholic] High School, then went on to play basketball at the University of Arizona. After realizing that I wanted to get more playing time, it became obvious that transferring would become a reality so after some heavy recruiting from current UD seniors Stephen Joseph and Matt Kewell – yes, the famous basketball alumni – I found myself playing at the University of Dallas after completing a Semester at Sea through the University of Virginia. However, after Matt and Steve began to get boring, I transferred to Point Loma [Nazarene] University.
BB: Wow, so why the return to Dallas?
RD: Well, after making the mistake to transfer to Point Loma, I soon found myself without many friends. Plus, I had people such as yourself, Matt, Stephen, the Hot Boyz, etc. constantly reminding me of the good times we had at UD so, after little deliberation, I decided to head back to Dallas where I’ll finish out my collegiate career.
