Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), the transit-services provider for Dallas-Fort Worth, and KSWRP, the design-build contractor for the DART Orange Line to connect Irving to downtown Dallas, will hold a public meeting on the latest updates for the construction project today, Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 6:30 at Haggar University Center.
DART and KSWRP staff will hold another meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. at North Lake College in room G-401.
The first segment of the Orange Line will include the University of Dallas Station, the Las Colinas Urban Center Station and the Irving Convention Center Station, and it is scheduled to open for service July 30, 2012, according to DART Community Affairs.
The second segment includes North Lake College Station and Belt Line Station and is projected to begin service on Dec. 3, 2012. Finally, the third segment will consist of the extension of the Orange Line to DFW Airport and is scheduled to open in 2014.
